Ms. Barbara (Babs) Davis
About
Ms. Babs Davis is currently a Senior Instructor and Faculty Advisor in the Fashion Retailing Program in the Department of Clothing, Textiles, and Interior Design. Her teaching focus includes fundamentals of the fashion industry, trend forecasting and analysis, and retail merchandising and planning. She is also a Faculty Advisor in the Fashion Retailing program, helping students navigate college life and create education plans that are compatible with their goals. Prior to her academic career, Ms. Davis worked for almost 10 years in the fashion industry in both buying and wholesale. From 2010-2020, she was the Fashion Retailing program’s Internship Coordinator, creating and maintaining industry partnerships and placing students in internships across the country. In addition to teaching and advising, Ms. Davis serves on Faculty Senate as a member of the Steering Committee and co-chair of the Academic Affairs committee. Ms. Davis is a native of Shreveport, LA. She holds a Masters of Science in Apparel and Textiles from The University of Alabama and a Bachelor of Science in Fashion Merchandising from The University of Southern Mississippi. |
